A Quick and Easy Travel Snack: Grilled Cheese Sandwich

by Shawanda Greene

Sometimes travelling means arriving at your hotel at odd hours – not good if you (or the kids) are hungry.

Typically, if there are snacks in your hotel room when you arrive, you’ll be charged for eating them. If you don’t like vending machine rates, the typically 400-percent markup on minibar snacks will leave you aghast. Packing your own snacks will save you a bundle!

For a hot, melty snack, pack some cheese sandwiches, making sure to wrap them in aluminum foil. Once you arrive at your hotel, you can use the clothes iron to “grill” your cheese sandwich. Add a couple of drinks you wisely brought along, and everyone gets a hearty snack!
