A Small, Easy Way to Cut Energy Costs When Cooking Pasta

Thai pasta with chickenWhen every penny counts, try cooking pasta with less energy to save money on your electricity or gas bill.

  1. Bring a pot of water to a boil.
  2. Immediately add your noodles, and cover the pot.
  3. Once the water begins to boil again, turn the burner off.
  4. Leave the pot covered for about 20 minutes, stirring once or twice to keep the noodles from sticking.

Bonus: This trick also works for boiled eggs.
