Choose Generics to Save Money on Prescription Drugs

by Shawanda Greene

When you take prescription medication, try to use generics instead of brand name formulas. Ask your doctor to allow your pharmacy to fill the prescription with a generic. Go to your health insurance plan’s web site to learn about generics for the drugs you take and how much you could save. You can also look up generic equivalents using the Food & Drug Administration’s Orange Book or RxList. Check out How to Find Cheap Prescription Drugs for other techniques you can use to reduce the costs of medicine.
