Haha. *Snort* I said “annals.”
I’m pretty sure I used that word incorrectly. It’s fine. Sometimes you have to take a risk.
Anyhoo, I really just wanna tell you which direction I’d like to take the blog plus reveal a little something extra about what’s been going on in my personal life.
An awesome new poll
Lately, I’ve been thinking about putting a lot more time and effort into the blog than I have in the past. Everyone’s time is both precious and finite, and I’m no exception. Therefore, I think it’s a good idea to ask you what You Have More Than You Think can do a better job providing before I waste energy compiling some garbage no one cares about.
You’re probably wondering why I’m asking about this now.
Here’s the issue. There are millions of personal finance blogs – okay maybe not millions. But, suffice it to say, there are a LOT of them. I want to offer something fresh. Something you haven’t been able to find anywhere else on the internets.
So, I come to you, dear friend, with my satin cap in hand, to ask if you would please be so kind to let me know:
What the heck it is you want from me!!!
Feel free to offer a suggestion that’s not on the list. The 5 multiple choice options are just my stab at what I think you might want to learn more about. What do I know?
Don’t fret. I’m not changing the spirit of the blog. My natural wit and humor will continue to shine through.
I joined the Yakezie Challenge
“Yakezie is a personal finance and lifestyle network with over 100 blogging members.” Over the next 6 months, my objective is to squeeze – I’m sorry. I mean break, bust, and kick my way into the top 200,000 web sites of the Alexa ranking system. As I write this post, You Have More Than You Think is #548,674. Watcha back, #548,673. You ain’t even gon’ know what hitcha.
I got a promotion at work
I’ve abandoned my role as Financial Reporting Manager for the shinier and better paid position of Controller. Yaaaaay!
Being frugal is swell, but there’s a time to shift your focus towards making more money. Occasionally, I teach a budgeting class at a D.C. non-profit. Some participants love to complain about how they can’t save any money because they don’t earn enough. What do they expect me to say? I’ll tell you what I say. “Well, then, make more money.”
Am I right?
Since the beginning of time – March 2009 – I’ve wanted to create a page with helpful resources and tools that either help you save money or help you make money.
Well, I’m not putting it off any longer.
This page will be a perpetual work in progress as I’m sure the usefulness of the resources included will change over time. Some will cease to exist. Others that were once free will suddenly become unfree. *Sigh* A girl can only hope this little dream won’t morph into a broken link nightmare.
More on that to come.
