I’m disappointed in me. My waistline has expanded beyond my circumference of comfort. While driving from the supermarket this evening, I felt belly fat spilling over the front of my skinny jeans. My thighs aren’t vigorously rubbing together when I walk yet. But earlier today, they felt a little too snugly with one another while I was sitting on the couch.
The extent to which I’m feeling let down by my own lack of discipline isn’t evidenced in this week’s Eats for the Week. Once I start back working out, my menu plans will look a little healthier. I reckon I’d save three pounds of weight gain this month if I just stopped drinking wine. Wait a minute, wait a minute. I’m talking crazy. Forget I said anything. For now, baby steps.
I’ve been saying I’m heading back to the gym for a few months now. Maybe telling you I’m going to the gym tomorrow will get me out of bed in time. Let’s pretend I actually hit the gym on Monday. The degree to which I’m motivated to go on Tuesday is largely dependent on three factors: 1) my ability to walk without wincing, 2) whether I bump into the cute guy with the skinny, hairy legs, and 3) whether I lock eyes with the disgustingly sweaty, but oh so sexy, guy with the nice back side.
Don’t judge. I gotta get my motivation from somewhere.
So, I guess I’d better shave my legs and oil up my dry dreadlocks. I’m going to the gym tomorrow. If I don’t, I’ll shamefully confess my transgressions on You Have More Than You Think and Twitter.

I like how your hitting up the slow cooker recipes. I think I may follow suit for a couple of weeks to survive during the holiday hustle and bustle. Don't beat yourself up too much about the weight and gym. The new year is always a good time to start. (I know, cuz I need to do the same thing here! My waistline expanded, too. Think I may redo the vegan-raw food diet – I feel more energized that way, too)
I made the Slow Cooker Beef Chili w/Cornbread Topping last night. It turned out really well. There are a million ingredients. I don't think I saved any time by making that recipe, but I already love my slow cooker. It was comforting to wake up to the smell of food cooking.
I've tried a vegan diet at least twice and failed miserably. I can't wait to see vegan recipes on your menu plan. I'd love to give some a try.
Lovin' the sound of that steak dinner!
Mmm, mmm, mmm!
Your menu look delicious.
Your menu is so extensive!
Mine this week is:
Sweet & Sour Juicy Chicken + Pitas (originally wanted to do them with mashed taters)
Porketta Deli Meats + Alfalfa Sprouts
Ramen + Green Onions + Eggs
I don't really vary my meals during the week.. as I am the only one eating them all the time.
As for that video — that is SO ME!!!!!!!!!
My menu plan is more like a wish list. Seems I always cook way too much for one person, so I end up having a lot of leftovers.
I've never exploded out of a skirt or anything, but I do unbuckle my pants after a big lunch. I should be ashamed to admit that. Oh well, a girl's gotta eat.
Ahh, that's exactly me.
I cook only one or two meals a week but that's because I eat the food and leftovers to boot, since I don't freeze anything.
I definitely admit to unbuckling my pants after eating a huge lunch or dinner.. it's why I've taken to wearing jersey wrap dresses so that my belly can expand
Forget the menu. I will be watching for your confession on the blog or twitter and I better not see one. Go to the gym! If you need to make a deal with yourself to get more discipline, try http://www.stickk.com/. Good luck and have fun working out!
I went to the gym!!! And, saw the hairy legged guy I mentioned. Didn't see the sweaty one. Either way, victory for me. I've bookmarked Stickk. What a great concept. I'm feeling a little anxiety from publicly committing to do something on a consistent basis.
