Now that there’s about a month left to file your income tax returns, I’m proud to announce the TurboTax Premier Online 2011 giveaway.
You know, to this day, I haven’t been able to find a better price than free.
Before entering the giveaway, please consider whether you already qualify for free income tax return preparation and e-filing. There are governmental initiatives in place that may allow you to use other tax prep software at no cost.
Those with an adjusted gross income (AGI) of $57,000 or less are most likely to find a free option. You might even be allowed to file your state tax return for free, so I highly recommend you check out www.IRS.gov/freefile to see if you qualify.
Here’s a fun fact: According to the Internal Revenue Service’s web site, approximately 70% of U.S. taxpayers have an AGI of $57,000 or less.
For taxpayers with annual incomes in excess of $57,000, there’s still hope of using free tax preparation software for the completion and e-file of your federal (not state) income tax return. TurboTax Online Federal Free Addition, TaxACT Free Edition, and H&R Block At Home Free Edition all feature the following benefits to the taxpayer at no cost:
- No income restrictions
- Preparation of forms 1040, 1040A, 1040EZ and certain related schedules (schedules C, E, F, and K-1 are, generally, excluded)
- Free e-file for federal income tax returns ONLY. (State income tax return preparation is available for an additional fee.)
If you earned $57,000 or less in 2011, you’ll qualify to file your federal AND state income taxes online through MyFreeTaxes.com. This site also features a handy tool that’ll help you find a local organization that provides in person tax preparation at no cost.
If you’re one of the “unlucky” souls who has to pay for federal and/or state tax prep or just can’t bother to determine otherwise,
There are four ways to enter. PLEASE USE THE FORM BELOW.

This giveaway is open to U.S. residents only.
No entries will be accepted after 11:59 PM EST on Wednesday, March 21, 2012. If you’re one of the winners, you’ll have 48 hours to respond after being notified before an alternate is chosen.
Best of luck!!!
