When you set out to get your finances under control, save for an emergency fund, get out of debt, etc., it’s easy to focus on reducing your expenses. It makes perfect sense. Immediately, you can decide to spend less money. Earning more money is another matter altogether.

Increasing your income, generally, takes time. And that’s precisely why you should start working on bringing in more cash the minute you set a financial goal.

Getting a promotion in your current profession is one of the simplest methods to grow your financial wealth. In this video, I share an easy tip I used to get a promotion at a former employer.

I used GetRaised.com to ask for a raise. It helped me articulate my value and do the right research to compare my current salary to similar positions in my field. I got a 12% raise using that letter. It was the best $20 I ever spent!
